Dear ASC,

The Clunies Ross National Science and Technology Awards are presented on 26
March at the award dinner in Melbourne - strictly embargoed to 6 pm on the

This year the seven medallists are from Perth, Brisbane, the Gold Coast,
Sydney and Melbourne.

Their work covers health and nutrition, medical imaging, water quality,
construction, chemistry, scientific instruments and astronomy.

Each medallist has had an idea and persevered - often for decades - until
their work has made a difference for Australia in some way for example -
exports, improved health outcomes, environmental protection etc.

Some of the seven will have strong news angles. Some have a fascinating life
journey to get to where they are today. Some are new to the media, some are
well known.

Information on all the awardees is available on embargo now. Just email me.

Accredited media are invited to attend the dinner in Melbourne on 26 March.

Beta Sp footage is available of all the awardees and their work.

Call me on 03 5253 1391, email niall at byc.com.au if you are a working journo
and would like to more under strict embargo.
