The French are in Australia, not only for the World Cup, but also to talk
about the future of cooperative marine research and management in the
Australasian and Antarctic regions. Experts from both countries are meeting
tomorrow at Geoscience Australia to discuss marine research including coral
reefs, geosciences, climate, fisheries and aquaculture.

WHO: Media are invited to attend and interview key Australian and French
spokespeople at an informal lunch gathering.

*	Find out about the major challenges currently facing marine research
and management in our region, and where we are heading over the next five
years.

*	Find out about the cooperative marine research agreement between
France and Australia, which has led to many successful research expeditions
including the AusCan study of the southern margin of Australia earlier this
year.
