[ASC-media] Alert: New Marine Atlas among media highlight at coastal conference

Wednesday 21 April

Australia’s major national forum for debating coastal issues continues 
in Hobart today at the Hotel Grand Chancellor.

The conference is exploring new insights and ideas, valuable new 
contacts and information, and will develop important new directions for 
integrated coastal zone management in Australia into the future.

Media highlights of the day include:

•	Launch of the National Marine Atlas by the National Oceans Office at 
11:00am today

•	Announcement by CSIRO of a new genetic technique that gives new hope 
in the battle to stop the spread of aquatic pests. Scientist Dr Nic Bax 
will give a talk on his work at 10:30am.

Venue:				Hotel Grand Chancellor

Interview times:		11:00 am each day at the media centre.
					Other times by arrangement.

The Coast to Coast 2004 online media centre provides details of all
