CAFE SCIENTIFIC at the Sydney Writers' Festival
Einstein and the Big Bang
6pm, Thursday May 26, 2005
How was the Universe created? What does it look like now? How will it all end? UK journalist and producer Simon Singh answers the big questions in his new book "Big Bang". In this Cafe Scientific, Simon will dissect and reassemble the universe with the help of Anglo-Australian Observatory Director Dr Matthew Colless and black hole researcher Dr Zdenka Kuncic (University of Sydney).
Hosted by Bernie Hobbs (ABC New Inventors) and Paul Willis (ABC Catalyst).
6pm, Thursday May 26, ATYP Theatre (near Sydney Dance Cafe), Sydney Writers' Festival (Wharf 4/5 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay)
Free, no bookings taken, doors open and live jazz starts from 6pm. Food and drinks available.
Café Scientific is presented by ABC Science, British Council and New Scientist Magazine. In a relaxed environment, experts and non experts alike throw around ideas and raise questions about scientific issues. Audience participation, good food, wine and live jazz music enhance the experience. Come along and join in or just sit back, listen and take it all in.
