Hello all,

Adelaide University's Institute for Mineral and Energy Resources (IMER) is looking for a research project officer. The position description emphasises a research background, but they would also consider a communicator with some knowledge of the field. The main purpose of the position is to prepare first-draft proposals and literature reviews over a fairly wide range of topics in good English, mainly around minerals and energy with strong technical input from the institute's Executive Director. See below for a summary of the position.

IMER research project officer

To increase and improve IMER's interaction with industry and hence increase support for research projects by developing documents such as Expressions of Interest and Capability/Impact documents..


To produce at least 10 new draft Expression of Interests (EOIs) describing new project opportunities from the list attached below
To produce at least 6 draft capability and impact documents describing key research strengths of IMER from the list attached below
To produce at least 3 literature and patent reviews for IMER and its Centres in areas of new potential opportunity
To liaise with IMER Executive Director, IMER Manager and Project Leaders and Chief Investigators assist in producing the above documents

Budget (resources):

Dedicated person (IMER Research Officer) at HE06 level to undertake the scope of work under the direction of the IMER Manager and Executive Director

Deliverables and Schedule:

First 2 weeks

Develop list of EOIs with Centre Directors and key researchers and develop first drafts

2 Months

First 2 EOIs and 2 Capability/Impact documents in preparation

3 Months

First 2 EOIs and 2 Capability/Impact documents complete, review of performance

6 Months

4 EOIs and 3 capability/impact documents complete,
1 Literature/patent review in preparation

12 Months

10 EOIs and 6 capability/impact documents complete,
3 Literature/patent review in preparation /
